Should we bin the term ‘Master’ bedroom from real estate’s lexicon?

In the wake of the #BlackLivesMatter movement are reports of a debate that’s begun in America’s property industry, spilled over into the UK, and now looks to be going global.

Leading estate agents in the US and UK are dropping use of the word ‘Master’ when describing main bedrooms that have their own ensuite bathrooms.

Some are pointing to its origin in a sadly darker period of history, when slavery was unfortunately the norm. Others claim it to be out of touch with the modern demographic of property buyer, many of whom can be sensitive to the classist connotations of the term.

We want your opinion. Select the term you prefer?
